Discover canyoning in Vallespir in the Pyrénées Orientales (66), at the Gourg des Anelles, the Cascades of Baoussous in Ceret, at the Mas Calsan in Reynes and the Terme Inferior in Amelie les Bains…

Vallespir is a region in the Pyrénées-Orientales department where you’ll find four canyons offering opportunities to discover canyoning, whether as an introductory experience or a more challenging adventure.
The Albères massif, near Céret, features two parallel valleys where canyons have been carved over time.
The Gourg des Anelles canyon in Céret (Gorges of the Rings) is the most enclosed section of the Vaillière river, which originates at the foot of the “Roc del Pou de la Neu” (The Rock of the Snow Well), where the inhabitants of Céret used to collect ice to bring down to the village and sell. It is overlooked by the “Pic de Font Freda” (Peak of the Cold Fountain), which features a very large water catchment basin that supplies the canyon with water year-round, making it aquatic. The canyon’s distinctive features are the narrowness of its gorges, which are less than 1 meter wide in places, its three large pools (natural swimming holes) that must be crossed by swimming, and its two large waterfalls (16 and 26 meters).

The Baoussous waterfalls canyon in Céret, known as “Salt dels Bussos” (Diver’s Leap), is the most enclosed section of the Noguerèda River (walnut grove). Traditionally, the inhabitants of Céret would come to this spot to jump and dive (bussos) from the last waterfall, unknowingly practicing the early days of canyoning at the beginning of the last century. This canyon is perfectly suited for canyoning discovery days.

The Canyon du mas Calsan in Reynès (jumps, rappels and slides) is also called the little Llech because of its diversity of obstacles, it is ideal for practicing the activity in the spring.

The Terme inferior Canyon, a family-friendly aquatic hike, sliding and jumping.

To discover our different canyoning trips, visit the technical pages of our different canyons or call us, we will organize a canyoning trip suitable for your level.

These canyons are located just 30 minutes from Perpignan, 35 minutes from the seaside resorts of Argelès-sur-Mer, Saint-Cyprien, and Collioure, and 45 minutes from Le Barcarès and Canet-en-Roussillon, and 40 minutes from Roses in Spain. These four canyons are the closest to the beaches of the French and Spanish Catalan coast.

Family Canyoning Term inferior Trip to Amélie-les-Bains

Discover canyoning as a family with a water hike in the Gorges du Terme and du Mondony in Amélie-les-Bains, accompanied by a French state-certified instructor. This water hike is the perfect way to experience canyoning as a family.

This activity presents no major difficulties, other than navigating the river and performing jumps, all of which can be bypassed. There are a total of seven progressive jumps, with an 8-meter option for the most daring and agile. A huge 15-meter natural waterslide opens up the gorge.
The descent is enhanced by an exploration of the geology and wildlife of mountain streams.

Here too, the erosion caused by the waters of the Terme and Mondony rivers has created its masterpiece, sculpting immense blocks of granite and schist in this valley with its Mediterranean feel. Just 40 minutes from the beaches of Argelès-sur-Mer, Saint-Cyprien, and Collioure, and only an hour from Canet-Plages and Banyuls-sur-Mer…
