The village of Saint Paul de Fenouillet has a unique feature: it boasts magnificent gorges easily accessible by car or on foot via a hiking trail. This area is a favorite spot for family canyoning, suitable for children aged 8 and up. The Agly River has carved exceptionally beautiful gorges into the limestone barrier of the Corbières mountains.
Canyon Descent
Family canyoning in Saint Paul de Fenouillet takes the form of a water hike in the Galamus Gorges, accompanied by a French state-certified instructor. Water hiking is a great way to discover canyoning as a family. This activity presents no major difficulties, aside from navigating the river and making jumps, all of which can be bypassed. The descent is enhanced by discovering the geology and wildlife. The spectacular erosion of the water has created a masterpiece, sculpting an immense gorge in the very heart of the limestone mountain.
How it works !
- All our half-day canyoning trips take place either in the morning from 09:00, 12:00 or in the early afternoon at 13:00.
- Equipment provided: reinforced suit, helmet, harness, lanyards, carabiners and descender).
- Free provision of shoes (from size 36).
- Transportation to the canyon from the meeting point is done with your own vehicle to the canyon exit parking lot (usually the lower part).
- Une navette en minibus jusqu’à la partie haute du canyon vous évitant un remontée souvent très physique à la fin de l’activité est mise en place quand elle est possible.
